Meet the letters
Big letters: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
Small letters: a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z
Letters make sounds
Every letter has a sound โ that is called phonics:
- A says "a" like in apple ๐
- B says "b" like in ball โฝ
- C says "c" like in cat ๐ฑ
- D says "d" like in dog ๐ถ
- E says "e" like in egg ๐ฅ
- S says "s" like in sun โ๏ธ
Blend two sounds
Put two sounds together and something magical happens:
sโฆ aโฆ โ "sa" ยท aโฆ tโฆ โ "at" ยท mโฆ eโฆ โ "me"
That blending is the secret engine of reading!
