📜 Read it aloud
At 163 metres, Bukit Timah Hill is Singapore\'s highest point.
It may sound small beside great mountains, but it holds a giant story.
Long ago, the hill was covered in thick rainforest where tigers roamed.
The name "Bukit Timah" may come from the Malay word for the temak tree, which once grew there.
Today, hikers climb its slopes along shaded trails.
Monkeys chatter in the branches, and monitor lizards sunbathe on warm rocks.
The hill reminds us that Singapore is more than skyscrapers.
A small hill can carry the memory of a whole forest.
When we protect places like Bukit Timah, we protect the stories inside them.
