Mei Lin noticed something strange.
The blue recycling bin near her block was full of food waste.
Banana peels lay among the plastic bottles.
"Food does not belong here!" she told her brother.
Together they made a poster: "Clean, dry items only!"
They taped it above the bin.
Mei Lin also started a small box at home for washed bottles and paper.
Her neighbours saw the poster and began to sort their waste properly.
Soon the bin was clean and tidy.
"One small idea can change a whole neighbourhood," Mei Lin thought proudly.
