📜 Read it aloud
Every Chinese New Year, Grandma makes curry puffs.
She wakes up at five in the morning to prepare.
First, she boils the potatoes and chops the onions.
The kitchen fills with the smell of curry leaves.
Then she kneads the dough until it is smooth.
Grandma lets me fold the edges of the puffs.
Mine always look a little lopsided.
"Yours are special," Grandma says. "Nobody else can fold them quite like you."
When the puffs turn golden, we share them with our neighbours.
For Grandma, food tastes best when it is shared.
